I thought I simlpy join the group of guys who let you know one of their favorite functions in the IDE. One I especially like is the column-selection mode, where you can select a rectangle field for copy/delete/etc.

Sample of column selection

Press [Alt]+[Shift]+[Cursor] key to start column selection mode. This mode stays enabled as long as you do not change back. To change back to the defaut selection mode, press [Ctrl]+[O]+[K], which in fact is what many really want to know, since sometimes you enter column selection mode without wanting too. ;-)

ctrl+o, ctrl+c also puts the editor in column selection mode, at least with the default keyboard layout.

Even simpler: Hold Alt and drag with mouse to select a column (and enter column selection mode). Drag with mouse without holding Alt to exit column selection mode.

Depends on "simpler" - I rarely touch my mouse when I am not surfing the web, sometimes I cannot even reach it ;-) But yes, you are right, this is another way to reach the same goal.

You can also use "with" then you don't need to do column selection :

with FDockedForm do
begin
...
...
end;

First, this was simply an example.
Second, column selection does not only work for the same word.
Third, who in his right mind likes working with "with," usually it imposes more problems than saving time.
